The valley of Le Valais benefits from a wide diversity of ecosystems due to an exceptional climate marked by more than 250 days of sunshine per year, the presence of Le Foehn (a warm autumn wind) and thermal contrast betweeen hot days and cool nights.
At altitudes between 450 and 800 metres, the vines of Le Valais thus benefit from ideal conditions in which to flourish. Comprised of terraced embankments, the steep plots are supported by drystone walls which are real gems of craftsmanship and ecology.
The emergence and evolution of the Alps also provides a rich and complex geological base enabling the canton's 55 varieties to grow in a multitude of different soils. Syrah, Chasselas, Cornalin, Sylvaner, among many others, give a production rich in panache, depth and temperament. Walks through the vines, meeting producers, wine tastings in the cellars…
Le Valais is paradise for wine-lovers in search of experiences and emotions.
