In a setting of natural greenery, Crans-Montana is a town that has many wonderful, secret spots in which to stroll, outdo oneself or simply relax. Nature-lovers will explore the eight “bisses”, or irrigation canals, iconic features of Valais scenery since the 14th century. Walks along these streams where nature is beautifully preserved unveil breathtaking panoramic views. The Bisse du Ro is undoubtedly one of the most stunning. This hiking trail takes you to Lake Tseuzier across a dizzying walkway 120 m high. The less energetic will be just as impressed by the Sentier des Marmottes, a favourite hideaway for these wary rodents that can be discreetly observed on your walk.
Crans-Montana also offers a chance to stock up on memorable souvenirs. In summer, the Alpine pastures of Corbyre invite you to make cheese with a master cheesemaker. Children can also meet the herdsman and his cows! Those in search of originality will just love a stroll with yaks, a trampoline session at the Alaïa Chalet, or a day devoted to archery (from age 6). In winter, when the snow is powdery and conducive to outdoor activities, no fewer than 140 km of ski-runs await you. Facing full south, offering spectacular decor, skiing down these slopes is sheer delight for all levels of expertise. Finally, two ultra-experiences: a dog-sled excursion or a helicopter flight over the mountains.
